Professor Faruk Sijarić was born in 1942, Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Since 1947, he lives in Sarajevo. First and secondary music education (in violin) Faruk Sijarić received in Sarajevo. He, also, studied violin at Music academy in Sarajevo and continued violin studies in Moscow Conservatory, with the best Russian violin pedagogues, where he got his master degree in violin. Since 1975, until now, Faruk Sijerić worked as a professor of violin at Music Academy in Sarajevo. From 1987, until 2003, he was a rector of Music Academy. During 34 years of violin teaching, prof. Sijarić educated many young violinists whom are working now all over the world. Prof. Sijarić gave many master classes in Europe and USA. He was, also, an external examiner at diploma examines in Canada (Quebec, Gatineau, Montreal...) Prof. Sijarić was a member of the jury at the international violin competitions in Austria (Fritz Kreisler competition), Sweden (3 times), Hungary (Karl Flesh competition)... Besides his pedagogical career, Prof. Sijarić led intensive concert activities. He gave concerts in USA, Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, France, Austria, Sweden, Turkey, Denmark, all over former Yugoslavia... Prof. Sijarić speaks English, Russian and French.
